To reach new horizons in pursuit of economic stability and sustainable innovation, Europe needs to further develop its human capital and excel in educating future entrepreneurs, capable of navigating “all walks of life”, no matter the uncertainty and always finding creative solutions to challenges that may arise.
The earlier we start teaching our people to think as entrepreneurs, the better. Which is why entrepreneurship education (EE) should be encouraged at the earlier stages of formal education. However, studies show that this is not the case, and EE is by far the most underdeveloped element in the entrepreneurship ecosystem due to the lack of EE in pre-service teacher or initial teacher education (ITE) programmes at the university level.
Considering this, the PIETE project has been making a substantial contribution to bridge the gaps and address deficiencies in the development of entrepreneurial competences for a new generation of teachers at universities.
